The Bentley Institute will make available free software for a school and their students.  They do not have the teachers teach Microstation but instead have study plans to help guide students thru the many options of engineering, architecture and construction.  It is an exciting program.  If you would like information contact Randy Boney at rboney@oaconsulting.com

Thanks to the Bentley Institute we finally have a contact with Skills USA which has a national convention in Kansas City every year in June.  This year the Bentley Institute had a competition at Skills USA which we may be able to assist with in the following years.  This is a great competition for High-School seniors and technical school students.

We had a guest speaker at our October Meeting.  Jonathan Hoflander, EI with Olsson Associates.  It was a great success.   Most interesting part was his decision to go into engineering and then how he decided to go into the field of civil engineering.

If you have someone who would like a free meal that will sit down and talk to us about their career and the value of technicians and technologist we would appreciate having them join us.  We are also looking for other engineering societies to have a joint meeting with.  See are meeting notice for the next meeting and come meet the other members of our local chapter.
